History
During the British Reign, Lalitpur was a Tehsil Head Quarter of District Jhansi. One court of Munsif-Magistrate at Lalitpur Tehsil Head Quarter was established which started functioning in the building provided by the Revenue Department. In the year 1974,Lalitpur was declared District Head Quarter by the then Hon’ble Chief Minister Hon’ble Sri H.N. Bahuguna. In 1976, District court was established which started functioning in a private rented building. Lalitpur Judgeship was established on 01.03.1976. Sri Rama Shanker Misra was the first Judicial Officer,who presided over the court of District Judge.

Land for four court room building was acquired by the Judgeship and it got constructed, after inauguration of the court building on 22.02.1981 by the thenHon’ble Administrative Judge, N.D. Ojha, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, the courts started functioning in its own building, near Collectorate building.
